Can anyone tell me good things about Hawaii’s weather, hotels, and its waters? Please be descriptive.

Which island are you going to?

It’s pretty consistent on any given day.
During the summer time (May to October) it’s around 85 F. (At sea level)
In the winter (November to April) it’s about 78 F.

At night the temperatures are about 10 degrees lower. (F)

Royal Kona Resort (Big Island) and Royal Lahaina Resort (Maui).

I’m planning a trip to Hawaii, taking my wife and 2 year old. Where’s a good place to visit? Honolulu? We have a very limited amount of money and can we still enjoy ourselves with a 2 year old??

All of Hawaii is expensive, so maybe with your "very limited amount of money" you might want to put off a trip until you can better aford it, or until your child is older and could enjoy it more. But if you can swing it now, here are some ideas.

Oahu (Honolulu, Waikiki) is the least expensive Hawaiian island, but it is very crowded. Maui is my favorite of the islands, because it is less crowded than Oahu but still has a lot to see and do. One way to be on Maui without spending as much money as it would normally cost, is to stay in one of the less expensive condos, rather than in a hotel. Not only will your room cost less, but you will be able to eat most of your meals in the condo, instead of having to pay for restaurants as you would if you were in a hotel.

This website has reviews of Maui condos and hotels in all price ranges, including photos of the rooms, pools, buildings, and beaches:

My fiance and I are going to Honolulu for our honeymoon. We’ve heard its pretty pricy to eat there and wanted to know if anyone has any tips/tricks on how to save money so we can have money for some fun activities!

Use Hotwire to book your car rental. It is nonrefundable though. Great prices!
Shop at the local supermarkets to buy most of your meals (2 out of 3 each day. Best markets are Don Quijote and Safeway (you can use your discount Safeway card from the mainland US). Same with your Costco card to buy gus (on Alakawa St).
Buy lots of healthy snacks to get you get by so you won’t be tempted to drop $30 on a meal.

Get yourself an Entertainment Book for $15.

You’ll save that much in 1 or 2 meals with the 2 for 1 coupons. Try to book a vacation rental instead of a regular hotel. Just as nice for about 1/3 less. Example: http://www.vrbo.com/87041

Get yourself a few coolers when you get here and stock up! One full-sized and one portable one. Take the portable one home and give away the full-sized one when you are leaving your room. Someone will be happy!

There are many free things to do. Just hang out at the beach.

Enjoy!

but we are wondering how much will it cost us, can someone, that has gone to Hawaii for their honeymoon, tell me how much they spend on it?? I really appreciate it, thanks in advance.

can i come with. im clean and helpful lol.

your very lucky

just look on thomas cook or other websites of that matter.

have fun.

About three or four weeks before you go is the best time generally. Airlines sometimes drop prices about then to sell unused seats, though I don’t know if we’ll ever again see the kind of airfares we saw before Aloha Airlines and ATA ceased operations in April.

Pleasant Holidays is a travel agency that has specialized in Hawaii vacations for years and years. People in Hawaii tend to use that one a lot. Cheap Tickets is also popular here.

I am looking for a website that will tell me about the best attractions to look for on my vacation to Hawaii. I don’t want to do tourist things. I want to do what locals do. Hence, I am looking for a website where I can read about what Hawaii locals do for fun, food that they eat, restaurants they go to, and beaches locals surf at. Please help…

You could start with the visitor bureau web sites for each of the islands, but you’ll find their information to be rather basic and sanitized–none of the "what the locals do" stuff.

If you want to get the best deals, tips, and advice then head over to GoVisitHawaii.com.

The blog is packed full of personalized reviews and is not afraid to tell you what sucks–all of their reviews are unbiased–and what rocks!

They also have lots of tips for seeing Hawaii like a real kamaaina (local) like this one: http://www.govisithawaii.com/2007/06/27/eat-where-the-locals-eat/

I won a vaca for 2 nights. I know this is not long enough to fully enjoy everything there is to see but I am still planning on using the voucher. It comes with airfare and hotel accomodations. Has anybody used one of these things? What kind of hotel/motel do they stick you in?

Are you sure it’s not a scam. And yes two nights isn’t a long time to see and experience the island.

but very affordable as well. Please share any info with me.
Thanks in Advance!

According to Voice of America, the US government news agency, that China is to talk with Dalai’s envoy in Beijing . http://www.voanews.com/english/2008-06-30-voa12.cfm

If China has set a good example, then the US, as World Champion of Democracy, should not be overtaken by China,
1) Talk to Hawaii Kingdom’s representative. or the Acting Council of Regency in Honolulu.

http://hawaii-nation.org/

2) Talk to the representative of Alaskan Independence Party

3 Talk to and recognize the Republic of Lakotah—- the original owners of North American continent, Nancy Pelosi should meet Russell Means, the spiritual and temporal leader of Lakotah Nation.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Lakotah

Beijing is to meet and talk. What’s wrong with the US for not to? Waiting for others accusing us for Changing of Heart on Democracy?

—or should i just go to the postal service and do it there.. save the frustrating and be a lot easier for me? thanks.
yea, i was thinking the same way. thanks.

If you can weigh the package accurately,
you can do it yourself, because the required
postage depends on the weight.

At http://www.usps.com you can get all the
information you need about postage fees
for packages.

Also, there are restrictions on packages
above a certain weight being put in mailboxes,
so the simplest thing is just take it to the post
office, have them weigh the packages and
tell you how much the postage will be.
