My friend is getting married at the Four Seasons Maui. I unfortunately can’t afford to stay there. But I would like to stay close to there. My boyfriend and I are going and want to stay somewhere pretty nice (no more than $200 a night) so any suggestions on where to stay, things to do, places to eat would help
Congrats on your friend’s marriage! You’ll have a ball, I’m sure!
I wouldn’t totally give up on staying at the Four Seasons Maui just yet, there are some awesome hotel deals going on around the islands, and you just might get lucky. I’d keep checking sites for specials until you make your final booking.
There’s a great free accommodations guide to Maui with information and details on many local hotels and condo rentals. http://www.budurl.com/freemauiguide
The closest hotels to the Four Seasons Maui are:
- The Fairmont
- Diamond Resort Hawaii
A little further, you’ll find:
- Wailea Beach Villas
- Grand Wailea Resort & Spa
All of these are great places to stay. For some hotel deals, I’d go here: http://budurl.com/hoteldeals
The area is near a convenient shopping center and by the beach, so you’ll have lots of restaurants to choose from and be close to many activities. I’d recommend eating at Spago at the Four Seasons – it’s expensive, but so worth the Hollywood-like experience in paradise.
There’s so much to do and see on Maui, here’s a site with a list of many things: http://www.hawaii.com/hawaiian-information/maui/attractions/overview.php
We’ve never been on a cruise, or to the Caribbean, or anyplace ultra tropical, so it would be great. Concerned about LONG flight to Hawaii, but I hear it’s worth it! If you’ve been to Hawaii- which islands are best?
Maybe we should go to both!
Do the cruise to Caribbean ,they are the BEST!!!! you’ll never find a better place to go then on a cruise! because the trip is on a ship not on a LONG plane ride! your out in the middle of the Caribbean sea!and you can go to more then just one place! you can to to like 5 places! not just 1!

Everything that they said. There are a couple of good golf courses. Surfing is not great in the area but there are a couple of great surf shcools including one run by Rory Russel who is a world champion surfer. Gauranteed to get you up and riding. There are many shows etc in the local hotels but you really need to get out of town and explore the island to have a great time here. Lots to see and do on the island. Just get in your car and go. You’ll have a ball.

We are getting married in October and my future wife wants to go but we dont think were gonna have enough. We know we want to do a cruise around the islands.
I have been to Hawaii 5 times and I can tell you this. Airfare can be had r/t for about $700 or less each(from the East Coast) depending upon when you go . Hotel rooms in Hawaii, regardless of the island are very expensive; on the order of around $300 a day for a beach front hotel but less for hotels a few blocks from the beach, maybe $180 to $250.
If you go on a Hawaii cruise you will still need to spend the money for airfare to Honolulu where the cruises begin. You can get a cabin on a Norwegian ship for $700 (inside cabin) to $900. (outside cabin, or about $1300 for a balcony cabin.
So for 6/7 days in a beach front hotel you will need maybe $1500 to $1800 (for 2), plus another $1400 for air. Total about $3,000.
For a cruise $2000 for outside cabin, plus $1400 for air. Total about $3400. But on the cruise all of your food is paid for (you will have to pay another $150 for gratuities). You can eat for cheap in Hawaii as they have fast food places, like Denny’s, McD’s, and other such places in the shopping centers and markets. (don’t eat in the hotel restaurants). They also have places like Ruby Tuesdays and Chiles’.
The other benefit of the cruise is that it will take you to several islands. If you stay in a hotel you can fly commuter flights between islands for about $60 each. But those flights can add a lot to your trip cost.

I am of the school of thought that if you want a generic package where you get what they have to offer and nothing else at an inflated price, then a website is the answer. If you want something specific, then you get in contact with a Travel Agent.
When you contact a Travel Agent, do not hesitate to ask for something specific as there’s a very good chance that it can be granted. TRAVEL WITH STEPHEN is a very good Travel Agency, because they offer very good customer service, and the prices for most of their Travel are very reasonable.

My hubby and I were planning on going to Hawaii for a few days in June.
I was wondering what place is best to stay to get the most out of it.
We want to get do some sight seeing of things like volcanoes and do some water sports. I would also like to check out a luau if possible.
I have heard that Honolulu is a packed city and I don’t know that I want to be there, because I really don’t care for the "big city" aspect of vacationing.
So what would you suggest?
If you dont want the "big city" vaca, dont plan to stay on Oahu (Honolulu, Waikiki) This is all city, all tourists. You will see your volcanos on the Big Island, Luaus on any island (you can find them everywhere) Maui is more laid back and romantic.
