Travelling with hubby – i am 31
Depends on the island to some degree:
On all islands, you’ll want to do activities associated with the ocean. Windsurfing, kayaking, deep sea fishing, diving, take diving lessons, go surfing/take surfing lessons
I highly recommend the Ultimate Kauai and Ultimtae Maui guides. Here are a few ideas…
Kauai: Na Pali coast hike, visit Waimea canyon, hike in Koke’e, paddle the Na Pali coast, go diving off of Molokai, go snorkel with tutles at Ke’e, are a few.
Oahu: In winter-ish times, check out massive surf on the North Shore, go snorkel Hanauma Bay, go body surfing at Waimanalo beach park (summer-time though, winter-time, there can be jellyfish so watch out–holds true for northern coasts of all Hawaiian islands when there are storms or southerly winds, btw. Walk the length of the beach a bit before going in the water and if there are alot of little jellyfish (tranparent/purplish) on the shore, don’t go it. If few, just watch out, if you get stung, they see pee, aloe vera, or meat tenderizer does the trick, though hydrocortisone is probably a good bet too). There rae some decent restaurants on Oahu, but not many (IMHO) on the other islands. Zagat will give you a decent idea. Some of them are quite pricey.
Try malasadas (portguese donuts transplanted into Hawaii by immigrants). On Oahu, go to Leonard’s bakery is one place on Kapahulu avenue, close to Waikiki. Go eat some Hawaiian food at Ono Hawaiian foods, also on Kapahulu avenue–its a little dive, but delicious as the name implies ("ono" = yummy in hawaiian).
Maui: Some good diving, go kayak out and look for whales on the south shore. Drive the Hana coast and hike up the seven sacred falls. Go up Haleakala early in the morning and watch the sunrise (but bring warm clothes–high elevation/cold). Eat at Mama’s fish house. Visit Iao valley.
Candid remarks from various passengers while on Hawaii’s best snorkel cruise, Fair Wind Cruises in Kona. Video takes place at Kealakekua Bay – a marine life sanctuary where Captain Cook first discovered the Hawaiian Islands. Considered to be the best snorkel location in Hawaii. These guests seem to agree! www.fair-wind.com

I am a child care provider. Looking for activities for my kids to do . I am doing a lesson plan. I don’t mean on Hawaii. I mean about Hawaii.
Tissue Paper leis are fun to make with circles of paper and yarn with a plastic yarn needle. Basic hula moves are lots of fun and good exercise. The web site easyfunschool.com has lots of terrific ideas.
I’m attending the ProBowl this year and I’ll be in Hawaii long enough to enjoy all of the activities Hawaii has to offer. Are there any ProBowl related activities I could spectate/partake/attend?
usually in the stadium areas
My Recommendations:
Hike up Diamond Head
Visit the Honolulu Zoo
Watch the lighting of the Tiki tourches in Waikiki
Visit the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor
Tour the USS Missouri at Pearl Harbor
Tour the submarine USS Bowfin at Pearl Harbor
Shop at the swap meet at Aloha Stadium. You will find the best prices on your Hawaiian shirt and other merchandise there.
Go to the top of Aloha Tower, shop, and dine at the Aloha Tower Marketplace.
Visit the Polynesian Cultural Center
Tour the Dole Pineapple Plantation
Visit Maunalua Bay Beach Park
Visit Koko Crater Botanical Garden
Go to Sunset On the Beach for free Hawaiian entertainment and a free movie. There are food vendors there as well.
Eat and shop at the International Market.
Enjoy a day at the beach.
Tour the island on the Bus. It’s one of the best ways to see the island.
Here is an excellent restaurant guide.

It depends on how much you want to spend on hotel really – if you need a super deal go through a travel broker – they used to only arrange travel for corporations & employees but now they have pacakges open to the public – you can stay at a 4 star condo style resort for 8 days for under $500 which is a STEAL.
If you want to do pretty much everything on the islands there is a special pass you can get for Maui or Oahu that will let you do EVERYTHING. You can do all the touristy stuff, take romantic cruises, go to luaus, hike volcanoes, see pearl harbor, snorkel, kayak – all of it.
You can find the Fun Passes at this site – when you go to it just click on the 5 day or 8 day Hawaii packages they offer & you’ll see a list of all the activities & tours you can do – these are such a huge money saver & a great deal! Aloha!
