I am planning a wedding out there and could use any and all advice as far as the planning and tips go especially from those who have done it before. What about a wedding planner is Hawaii? Or should I get one here in the states. The budget is not going to be over the top but we all want to have a good time if that makes sense.

1 – Hawaii is a state
2 – I would google "wedding planners" Maui as there are ones on all islands. The ones at the hotels are very expensive. Ask for 2-3 references of people who have gotten married. I would look at condo room early so you and your guests can all stay together. Maui is VERY expensive so plan carefully.
3 – In terms of where to get married there are several options. Beaches are OK but require permits so ask the wedding planner about locations and prices. Often there are private homes that are rented by the day for things like weddings, which make things easier–a caterer can provide food for an afternoon affair.

It is true, no matter where you are headed! I booked a flight this past Feb to Anchorage Alaska for my husband and son (from Det, Mi to Anchorage Alaska: air &hotel, 7nights 8days. It was 1500!!!! Not per person, but for both! They flew in May! I booked with Expedia.com
Me and a couple of my friends are goin’ to Hawaii for vacation (end of March – beginning of April). Where can I get the best deals online? Is it better to book a flight and a hotel in one package or separately? Thx

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

There won’t be any deals yet–start looking in april and May. I’ve noticed in helping others that "package" deals are not such a good deal right now. Get your airfare, then make a car reservation (the cost does not go down, only up) and THEN look for hotels. That will be the busiest month, so start as soon as you have your airfare.
The other person is right, hard to tell as you don’t identify your departure city.
