My fiance and I are trying to choose where to go on our honeymoon. We love the idea of Hawaii, but also love the idea of an all-inclusive (all adult) resort. We were thinking maybe Honolulu. Any input would be much appreciated.
To clarify… We would prefer all adult, but it doesn’t necessarily HAVE to be. Any info all inclusives that aren’t necessarily all adult would be helpful as well. ![]()
Closest to an all inclusive resort is Kona Village on the Big Island of Hawaii. I am not aware of any true all inclusive resort anywhere in the state like those offered in the Caribbean.
I’m planning a honeymoon in May for 8-10 days to two of these three islands(still not decided): Oahu, Maui, Kauai. What is the best way to plan this trip? Should I go through some travel agency or plan the trip details myself (booking flight, hotel, rental car etc.) ? What’s best in terms of affordability and enjoyment? If planning on my own is better then what are some good resources?
I prefer Kauai and Maui. Oahu is very busy. Below are some resources that I have used in the past.

Here’s a little video of a rap I wrote poolside on my honeymoon at the Grand Hyatt in Kauai, located on the same island where Kanye West just filmed his “Amazing” video. I spit it real quick on the patio outside our room while my wife was in the shower. You can hear the ocean and the birds chirping in the background. Something for those who appreciate lyrics and the creative process of songwriting.

Spain includes flying to Madrid, visiting Italy and France, then finishing the honeymoon in Greece.
Wow, the Spain trip sounds great. If you are the sightseeing type then I’d go there. Although there are lots of stuff to do and to see in Hawaii I think it will be much more varied in Spain, Madrid, Italy, France and Greece.
You can always go to Hawaii on an anniversary.
I live in Hawaii and have only been to Italy once … would love to go back and visit more of europe some day.
I know weather is different depending on which island we visit, but I have no idea. I’m open for suggestions! I don’t want to be around tons of people.
It’s not so much which island you visit as which side of the island. Hawaii, Maui, Molokai, Oahu, and Kauai have big enough volcanoes that there is a rainy side (windward, koolau) and a dry side (leeward, kona). Molokai, Oahu, and Kauai have swamps on top of their largest mountains. The largest volcanoes on Hawaii and Maui have summits above the tree line, and sometimes get snow in the winter when it storms.
Because of the volcanoes–and mountains left when volcanoes crumbled into the sea a few million years ago–there are several small microclimates in each of the major islands. For years, I lived in a mediterranean climate, with about 15 inches of rain in a typical year. One summer this town got only 7 hundredths of an inch of rain between May and October! But I used to commute five days a week to a different climate, seven miles away and about a thousand feet up, that got twice as much rain.
So usually, when it’s raining in the mountains or on the windward side, it’s sunny at south and west facing beaches. And very often, there’s a rainbow in between. No rain, no rainbows! No rain in the mountains, no waterfalls!
November is the start of the rainy season. There’s a small chance that when you’re here, a kona storm will come along, drawing moist air from equatorial regions, dump rain all over the islands for days, and cause flash flooding in several locations. But there’s a better chance that you’ll find a sunny beach somewhere, every day that you’re here.
Also November is the start of humpback whale season. The 8th is a bit early in the season, but later in the month, you might spot some on a whale cruise. If I were you, I’d come in November.
Hey everyone me and my fiance were planning on going to the Atlanits hotel in the bahamas…however due to the passport issues we wont be able to get one in time…
Where in Hawaii is the best place to go for a honeymoon…we want somewhere young and fun since we are both under 25.
Something fun yet inexpensive but nice…..thank you in advance!
First of all congrats on the marriage!!! I’ve been to Hawaii 7 times and to different islands each time. But if you are looking for fun and stuff then my advice would be to go to Honolulu or Maui. Maui is kind of expensive but Honolulu isn’t that bad(money wise). Have fun!!!
Here are a collection of pictures I took on our amazing Hawaiian Honeymoon in July 2007. This was one of the best moments in my life, I love you Josie! Edwin and Josie’s Honeymoon! 1 week in Kauai, then a 7day cruise of the remaining islands!

Can someone tell me which beaches are the nicest as far as water clarity and tropical blues? Are Maui beaches as nice as Oahu I’ve been there.
I prefer Maui beaches over Oahu beaches. Try and stay in Kaanapali, truly gorgeous.
Our beautiful honeymoon!!!!
