I found this link before with all the good stuff in it but unfortunately, I couldn’t remember the name of the site after I reformatted my computer. It includes a map where you can filter the activities you want to do( local and featured ones), local radio stations, links to other great websites about Hawaii… etc. On the map portion, it’ll even give some brief info about the place and its website.

The best site I have found for affordable Hawaii vacation is www.CorporateTravelGifts.com. They are a wholesale broker but anyone can buy these packages.

You can go to Hawaii for 5 days for $399 & plus you get a free airfare also. I’ve used this pckg & others from the site, they have great deals other than Hawaii too – good luck!

We are planning a get together with family and what good weather while in Hawaii-

I was in Oahu this past May and it was gorgeous weather.

The funny thing about Hawaii is this: because it is mountainous, the clouds are often trapped on the windward side of the mountains. So you can travel 5-10 minutes and go from rain to clear skies and sunshine. As an example, I stayed near Kailua and Kaneohe, and it was often rainy (because it’s a tropical rainforest area). I went down to Waikiki 20 mins away and it was sunny!

I’m going to Vegas for the first time with my boyfriend soon and not only do I not know what to wear, but I don’t know if I should buy it here in Hawaii or wait til I get to Vegas. I’ve had mixed answers from people in Hawaii. Some saying Vegas is cheaper while others saying the opposite. Any answers from people with more experience?

Vegas is way cheaper but don’t buy in the hotel malls. You can go over to the Fashion Show Mall and there’s oodles of shops and good prices too. FYI the Fashion Show Mall is across Spring Mt from the TI.

Stores include Nordstroms, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Dillards, Bebe, Express, Hot Topic, J. Crew, the Limited and lots and lots of others all price ranges.

We do have a sales tax of 8.10% so factor that in.

THANK YOU all for your submissions! I hope it was fun! :)

My family and I are planning to go to Hawaii (Probably Kona, but small possibility in Honolulu) and were wondering if there were cheap or decent places to go to shop and activities enjoy without spending an arm and a leg. I know Hawaii is expensive and a tourist area, but there must some activities and places to shop that are affordable. Would appreciate any insight.

Aloha Stadium & Kam Drive In Swap meet, (flea market), right across from Pearl Harbor & Arizona Memorial, Sat., Sun., Wed.,great deals on everything, barter like you’re buying an automobile.Kona consists of Alii Drive, it’s not that big, but I love it. It’s the superbowl of big game fishing. (Honokahau Harbor) Couple miles North of Kona. Air conditioned 50-60 ft. fishing boats w/ videos taken of you, lunch provided if U want or bring your own, Nothing like fighting a 40 lb Mahimahi jumping out of the water, or a 2-400 lb. Marlin! What a rush. Or just go for the ride, lunch & cocktails & see the island from a different perspective, It’s beautiful. Almost guarantee you’ll get some action from the fish. If you have a kitchen in your room, don’t shop in Waikiki, go about a mile or 2 to the regular supermarkets, Dai Ei, Foodland, or at least Food Pantry(a litle more expensive but right in Waikiki.I live in Waikiki & ride my bicycle to the grocery store. The Bus is $2 for adults…www.gohawaii.com (101 free things to do on Oahu, or under $10)or www.honolulu.com or www.midweek.com (free stuff to do, go hiking w/ the Sierra Club, $5-$10, check out ecotourism!

My hubby and I were planning on going to Hawaii for a few days in June.
I was wondering what place is best to stay to get the most out of it.
We want to get do some sight seeing of things like volcanoes and do some water sports. I would also like to check out a luau if possible.
I have heard that Honolulu is a packed city and I don’t know that I want to be there, because I really don’t care for the "big city" aspect of vacationing.
So what would you suggest?

If you dont want the "big city" vaca, dont plan to stay on Oahu (Honolulu, Waikiki) This is all city, all tourists. You will see your volcanos on the Big Island, Luaus on any island (you can find them everywhere) Maui is more laid back and romantic.
