Ohuahu, kawaii
Hmmm, for this I would actually use a travel agent. It’s too big of an expenditure to mess around with doing it on your own. They will set you up, get recommendations from others for the best agency near you. We used an agent and it worked out very well for us, we had a wonderful time. Hard not to in Hawaii!! Good luck!

Here’s the situation: My brother, who is on disability and struggling to make it in this world, used to go to church. He was tithing 10%. My brother got overly mad at his Pastor, and quit going to church when the Pastor and his family went to Hawaii for two weeks.
I think my brother’s point of view is that he strives to tithe, and here is Pastor, taking my poor brother’s 10% of his entire measely income to go on a vacation. My brother will never get to experience Hawaii, let alone any vacation of any sort.
Is this a lame excuse for my brother to stop going to church, or does he have a point here?
I know; there’s too many "he’s" and "him’s." I tried my best to make this clear.
Thank you to my fellow Christians.
Katie, once again, my brother is on disability. He has a severe case of spinal stenosis. The medication that he is on alone would make it impossible for him to hold any decent job at home. Forget the idea of him leaving his home to work: he is in constant pain.
I pray for him everyday.
I spoke with my s-i-l about this. She brought up an excellent point. She said, "Should I get mad at my child’s teacher, who’s salary is provided by tax payers, when she goes on an extravegant vacation? No! I tell her to ENJOY herself!… this is a lame excuse for your brother to stop going to church…"
My dear friend,
Let us not judge lest we be judged. There is also scripture that says "Don’t not touch the anointed of God -
“Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.’” (Ps 105:15)
Should the Pastor be doing something with the tithing that he should not be doing, that is between God and him, and God will see to that.
As for you, you keep on being obedient for obedience is better that sacrifice.
Don’t look at people, look to God. Your brother leaving the church is exactly what satan wanted <smile> he is so active in planting bad seeds.
Hope this could helped.
Take care
i’d like to spend xmas 2007 and new year’s eve 2008 somewhere warm. i’m just looking for a beach vacation and maybe a little nature sightseeing. is it cheaper to do so in florida or in hawaii – and where in those states is a good locale for a cheap warm water getaway? i’m mainly looking for a comparison of lodging and food costs – i have free airfare ![]()
Florida is always cheaper. Hawaii is ridiculously expensive.
I’m trying to evaluate whether it would be cheaper to rent a condo for 5 days or pay per night in a B&B. If B&B, any options for one in Waikiki that’s close to International marketplace?
Absolutely a condo, there won’t be any B&B’s nearby the International Marketplace but oodles of condos @ prices better than hotels. Drop me a line for further help.

you do A LOT of your own research!!!! That’s at least half the fun of going on vacation on the cheap!!!! We did Oahu- 4 people for 10 days- for $1640. We got our airfare with frequent flier miles, a 2 bedroom full kitchen hotel room, a rental car, all our food, admissions (did mostly free things though) and even souvenirs for that amount!!! Now THAT’S cheap! Our hotel was a block and a half off of Waikiki Beach and we had a beach view from the balcony! We bought food to make breakfast each morning and frequently packed lunch to take for the day since we had a kitchen. We hiked up Diamond Head (free), went to many of the beaches all around the island (free), visited the Byodo-In Temple ($8 per car), went to the Pearl Harbor Memorial (free), went to the Dole Plantation (didn’t do the tour, just ate Dole Whips, about $4 a piece), walked around Chinatown (free), hiked to the lighthouse (free). We ate at cheap places- there are a few places that advertise $6 steak and 2 sides plates that are decent. We ate Chinese at the international Market Food Court, and we ate lots of fast food! We treated ourselves to lunch at Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck (Google it for location)- about $12 for a plate of 12 big shrimp and 2 scoops of rice- but worth it! Our rental was a compact and our souvenirs came from the International Market where you can find tons of great cheap stuff!!!! have a blast!!!

After Obama returns from his vacation in Hawaii; would America be better off if Obama took another vacation again for the next 4 years ?
Sure would, but only if the Liberal nutjobs in Congress joined him.
