Denis, Philippe, Eric, Danny and myself did a stop over in Hawaii. The beach shots are on the island of Oahu on the beaches of Kailua and Ala Moana Beach which are very gentle and Sandy beach where the life guard told us we could not get into the water as only locals can swim because of dangerous rip tides. These are only four foot waves. On the North shore the waves can reach 68 feet. This is surfer paradise. Bonzai and Pipeline beaches are world known.
The other part of the clip is on the island of Hawaii, the big Island as we went to visit the active volcano Kilauea, at a short drive from the city of Hilo. Fun trip but too short. Definitely want to go back and spend time all over the islands.
The singer’s name is Israel Ka’anoi’i Kamakawiwo’ole.(pronounced ka-maka-vi-vo-ole) He is from Maui and is revered in Hawaii as a cultural icon. He past away June 26, 1997 and will be remembered for his love of the land and of the people of Hawaii.
