We took Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) Pride of America ship around the Hawaiian Islands May 16-23, 2009. What an amazing trip! This very short video shows a recap of this one week adventure in a tropical paradise.
Starting in Honolulu, we travel to Maui, Hilo and Kona on the big island, Kauai and back to Honolulu. From ziplining in the mountains, snorkeling in a coral reef, watching steam from the top of volcanoes, seeing lava flow into the ocean, fire dancing at a luau and passing the Na Pali coast, this is the trip of a lifetime.
As if the sights were not enough, the entire crew at NCL and the tour operators at every port have a tremendous spirit of service and aloha. They truly make you feel like family and go out of their way to serve above and beyond expectations.

This is an amalgamation of clips I took back in the beginning of 2008 when I went to Hawaii. I had my little Canon Powershot with me on the trip, and I took a million pictures with it. But when I found that static pictures couldn’t capture the awesomeness of what I was looking at, I took video of it instead. Most of the clips are from Maui Ocean Center because my camera had a hard time getting any decent photos in the weird lighting of the aquarium.
The songs are ‘In the Dark of the Matinée’ by Franz Ferdinand and ‘The Ocean Breaths Salty’ by Modest Mouse.

Hanging out in Hawaii with my new wife. We hike from our hotel to Diamond Head Crater and then hike up it and back. It was about a 7 mile round trip from the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel. Our Quads hurt for a few days because of all of the stairs. Then we eat supper at the Tiki Bar and Grill where a creepy man creeps us out. Lots of footage of Waikiki beach in the morning, recommendations about diamond head etc..
